All of our DVD list at 15.00 per disk – some come in multi-disk albums. You put this deposit in an envelop, in your cash drawer with a date of two weeks from the rental date. When the client brings the rental back you give them the envelop back and charge them at the rate of .50 per day with a minimum charge of 1.00. Half of this amount is deducted from the list price of the DVD. i.e. if this was the first rental the list price would now be 14.00 and then next renter would deposit 14.00 plus taxes.
The other potential problem with DVD's is scratches – as each rental goes out both you and your customer look for scratches on the surface and agree if it comes back scratched there will be a surcharge of 5.00.
